This NOAA satellite image taken Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 1:45 a.m. EDT shows a mass of clouds in the western Caribbean Sea associated with Tropical Depression One. The tropical system is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm as it moves toward the Yucatan Peninsula. The forecast track takes the storm into the southern Gulf of Mexico Sunday night. Clouds in the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest are associated with a front that is producing areas of heavy rain and thunderstorms. (AP PHOTO/WEATHER UNDERGROUND)AP – Tropical Storm Alex was strengthening fast in the western Caribbean on Saturday, and forecasters said it too soon to say if it would hit the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
